PayPal

PayPal accounts are easy to setup and there is no monthly fee for the standard service. You only pay a fee per transaction. This is ideal if you have a small number of transactions or infrequent transactions.

Once you have created your PayPal account you will need to enable IPN notifications

a) Log in to your PayPal account

b) Click on your name (or the name of the account holder which is displayed on the right hand side of the top menu bar) and select 'Account Settings' from the drop down menu

c) Click the 'Website Payments' option in the left hand menu (under 'Products & Services')

d) Click the 'Update' link to the right of the 'Instant Payment Notifications' line

e) Click the 'Choose IPN settings' button

f) Enter your admin url with /ipn on the end into the 'Notification URL' box e.g. https://xxx.clubmin.net/ipn (IMPORTANT: substitute 'xxx' as appropriate for your account)

g) Select the 'Receive IPN messages (Enabled)' radio button

h) Click the 'Save' button

You should also update the Postage Calculations setting (if your PayPal account allows):

a) Log in to your PayPal account (if not already)

b) Click on your name (or the name of the account holder which is displayed on the right hand side of the top menu bar) and select 'Account Settings' from the drop down menu

c) Click the 'Postage and packaging' option in the left hand menu

d) Click the 'Update' link to the right of the 'Postage calculations' option

e) Click the 'checkbox' at the bottom where it says: 'Click here to allow transaction-based postage values to override the profile postage settings listed above (if profile settings are enabled).'

f) Click the 'Save' button.

Once you have completed the steps above, you should add the Payment Gateway to your SCM account.

a) Go to Banking

b) Add a new Account for PayPal (if one doesn't already exist)

c) Go to Settings > Invoicing & Payments > Gateways

d) Add a new Payment Gateway

e) Select Type : PayPal

f) Select Bank Account : the PayPal account you created in Banking from the drop down list

g) Enter the email address for your PayPal account

h) Click 'Create Gateway'

Please note the Prompt, Success page, Failure page and Options are for special cases and do not need to filled in at this stage.

You are now ready to accept Payments via PayPal.
